This IT modernization initiative is a critical component of ensuring the effectiveness and security of our nation's law enforcement operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain STRIPES and PACES systems to ensure high performance and reliability.

  • Develop and implement system enhancements and updates using Java and SQL.

  • Leverage AWS cloud services to optimize system infrastructure and performance.

  • Adhere to secure coding practices to protect sensitive data and ensure system security.

  • Conduct thorough debugging and troubleshooting to resolve system issues promptly.

  • Integrate APIs to enable seamless communication between different system components.

  • Provide technical support and training to library staff on system functionalities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align system improvements with organizational goals.

  • Monitor system performance and generate reports for ongoing analysis and optimization.

  • Ensure data integrity and implement backup strategies to prevent data loss.

  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in library systems and technology.

  • Participate in system testing and quality assurance processes to maintain high standards.

  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for internal knowledge sharing.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of system documentation and user guides.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active DoD Public Trust clearance or US citizen with ability to obtain Public Trust upon hire

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Library Science, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working with STRIPES/PACES or similar library management systems.

  • Proficiency in Java and SQL.

  • Expertise in AWS cloud services.

  • Experience with secure coding practices.

  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.

  • Knowledge of API integrations.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desired:

  • Certification in AWS or related cloud services.

  • Experience with integrated library systems (ILS).

  • Knowledge of web development and scripting languages (e.g., HTML, JavaScript).

  • Familiarity with project management methodologies.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$63,300-$129,700
