Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

The Executive Administrator of Neurosurgery would serve as a key administrative leader for the development and advancement of the Department of Neurosurgery. The administrator will work collaboratively with members of the leadership team to drive the institution's growth, innovation, and transformation initiatives for these key department/programs. The administrator has primary responsibility to advance the Department of Neurosurgery to with multi-divisional, inter-departmental excellence in research, education and clinical (hospital and school of medicine) activities. This person will report directly to the Chief Administrative Officer. This position will support the Chairs in achieving clinical operations and financial goals and is responsible for leading administrative, operational, and business functions of the Department, which includes the clinical, research, and educational goals. Oversees management of affiliate negotiations, agreements, discretionary accounts and cost centers with managers and operational solutions to budgetary issues. Knowledge of departmental compliance with regulatory agency requirements. Responsible for the continual planning, updating, and implementation of the strategic priorities of the service line. Performs budgetary and financial analyses as required to maintain fiscal control and explore program optimization opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in business, health care administration, or related field, with five (5) to seven (7) years progressively responsible experience required
  • Knowledge of hospital and university finance and administration preferred
  • Knowledge in pratice management preferred
  • Knowledge of managed care
  • Knowledge of Maryland reimbursement system

Salary Range: Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility
