FLEET AND FACILITIES MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Salary: $142,056.48 – $172,670.52 Annually Location: City of Brentwood, CA Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 2026-2770-05 Department: Public Works Opening Date: 05/08/2026 Closing Date: 6/2/2026 10:00 AM Pacific Position Information The City of Brentwood is seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and collaborative professional to serve as its next Fleet and Facilities Maintenance Manager. The Fleet and Facilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the City’s fleet and facility operations, ensuring the reliable maintenance and performance of vehicles, equipment, buildings, and support infrastructure. This role oversees day-to-day operations while supporting long-term planning, capital improvements, and lifecycle management of City assets, including the procurement and replacement of fleet vehicles, equipment, and facility improvements. The position plays a critical role in maintaining service continuity across all departments by ensuring equipment readiness, safe and functional facilities, and efficient use of resources. The City is seeking a proactive and collaborative manager with strong leadership and technical experience in fleet and facilities operations. The ideal candidate will foster a team-oriented environment and actively promote collaboration across Public Works divisions and other City departments to support operational needs. This individual will emphasize accountability, safety, and continuous improvement while coaching and developing staff to reach higher levels of performance. A successful manager will bring sound judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage contracts, budgets, and resources while balancing immediate operational demands with long-term asset management strategies. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: Equivalent to an associate degree from an accredited college with coursework in business or public administration, operations management, construction management, or a related field. Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in fleet and facilities maintenance, including two (2) years of supervisory experience. Licenses and Certifications Possession of a valid California Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record must be maintained throughout employment. Possession of a Master Mechanic Automotive Service Excellence Certificate may be required. Possession of a Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) or Certified Automotive Fleet Specialist (CAFS) from the National Association of Fleet Administrators; or Certified Public Fleet Professional (CPFP) from the American Public Works Association; or equivalent may be required.
