Academic Year Internship Program Details


Program Dates: September 21, 2026 - April 23, 2027


Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.


Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from Universal City, CA.


Academic Year Recruitment Timeline

Operations & Technology: (O&T) is a $1B operating cash flow ($1.5B FCF) division of NBCUniversal. The group functions as a global shared service within NBCUniversal performing critical functions including Media, Broadcast and Studio Operations & Production, Content Supply Chain, Information Technology and Engineering, as well as Cyber Security. The group operates from numerous locations around the world, including New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Denver, Connecticut, and London.


Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:
  • Cyber Security Consumer Prod Sec : Our group is structured with a business information, security officer, and one analyst, with two senior cyber security managers, and one more being hired. We oversee the studio's film and TV business division and all the entities under the umbrella, including DreamWorks, Illumination Entertainment, Santa Monica Focus Features Studio Post, etc. This intern will receive exposure to those brands and more under the umbrella inclusive of television into these the exciting projects we have working on right now is production identity, and the development of a single sign on effort across production, work for operations, many layers and projects tied to risk mitigation and development of new production workflow regularly in partnership with the business to ensure that they're secure.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027). December 2026 graduates are not eligible for this Academic Year Internship Program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 - April 23, 2027.
  • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.
For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.


NBCUniversal is an E-Verify company, requiring all employees to have an active Social Security number. Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.


Desired Characteristics:
  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Previous history and understanding of security in any capacity as a plus knowledge of the media entertainment work closed is also a plus.
  • General understanding of computer skills and technology ecosystem tied to the media entertainment environment.
The hourly rate for student interns is $40.00.
