ManTech International, a leader in mission-focused technology solutions for the U.S. intelligence community, Department of Defense, and other federal agencies, is seeking a Classification Management Officer 2 to support our Defense & Aerospace portfolio within the Legal & Regulatory Compliance function. In this role, you will help protect some of the nation’s most sensitive information by ensuring that classified materials are properly identified, marked, safeguarded, and managed in strict accordance with Department of Defense and Intelligence Community directives. As a Classification Management Officer 2, you will advise program teams, cyber and engineering staff, and senior leaders on the proper application of classification guidance to complex technical programs. You will interpret and apply security classification guides (SCGs), executive orders, DoD manuals, and customer-specific directives to determine original and derivative classifications, downgrading and declassification instructions, and dissemination controls. You will review documents, briefings, reports, system artifacts, and data repositories to ensure accurate classification markings and consistent protection of information across multiple projects and systems. You will partner closely with legal, compliance, information security, and program management personnel to ensure that all classified information handling, storage, transmission, and destruction processes meet or exceed policy requirements. This includes supporting audits and inspections, assisting with responses to security inquiries, and helping remediate findings related to classification practices. You will help design and refine procedures, checklists, and workflows that embed classification management into day-to-day project execution, enabling our teams to innovate while maintaining rigorous compliance. A key part of your responsibilities will be educating and enabling others. You will develop and deliver training and briefings for technical and non-technical staff on classification rules, proper markings, need-to-know principles, and best practices for working with classified and controlled unclassified information. You will serve as a trusted internal resource for classification questions, helping teams navigate nuanced guidance and complex edge cases while minimizing risk to mission and enterprise. In addition, you will maintain accurate records and tracking of classification decisions, security classification guides, and related guidance, supporting configuration management and document control for classified materials. You will support incident reviews involving potential spillage or mis-marking, help document root causes, and contribute to corrective actions and process improvements. Throughout, you will work closely with other security and cyber professionals to align classification management with broader cybersecurity, access control, and risk management efforts that protect critical national security systems. ManTech fosters a culture of innovation, integrity, and respect for individual contributions. In this position, you will be part of a collaborative environment that values sound judgment, clear communication, and a proactive approach to compliance. Although the role is focused on classification and regulatory adherence, you will have regular exposure to cutting-edge Defense & Aerospace programs and cyber initiatives, contributing indirectly to the development and protection of advanced capabilities. The ideal candidate brings prior experience in DoD or Intelligence Community security or classification management, strong familiarity with information security and classification policy, and the ability to interpret and apply complex written guidance in a fast-paced operational context. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, along with an active DoD security clearance at the Secret level or higher. Professional security certifications and experience working with engineering, cybersecurity, or intelligence teams are highly desired. By joining ManTech as a Classification Management Officer 2, you will help ensure that critical national security information is managed responsibly, enabling mission success while upholding the highest standards of legal and regulatory compliance. You will have the opportunity to grow your expertise in Defense & Aerospace security, collaborate with seasoned professionals across disciplines, and contribute to a mission that matters every day.
