About the role We seek a remote Full Stack Developer with exceptional Flutter and mobile development experience to be part of an Agile support team in support of digital transformation, integration of emerging technologies into mission applications, and supporting modernized, cloud-based applications in production for Customs and Border Protection. The ideal candidate will be innovative, creative, and able to work independently. Please note that the duties listed above are not exhaustive, and the successful candidate may be required to perform additional tasks as needed.
Job Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using Flutter and React Native , ensuring high performance, scalability, and usability across mission-critical environments.
- Contribute as a full stack developer , supporting both front-end (mobile/web) and back-end components using modern frameworks, APIs, and cloud-native architectures.
- Support digital transformation initiatives by integrating emerging technologies into CBP mission applications and modernized cloud-based production systems.
- Collaborate within an Agile Scrum team , participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, code reviews, and retrospectives.
- Develop rapid proof-of-concepts (POCs) and prototypes to evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and innovative solutions.
- Conduct research and development (R&D) activities to test platform capabilities, performance limits, and scalability constraints.
- Engineer applications that operate effectively within platform and infrastructure constraints while maintaining enterprise-grade scalability and performance.
- Design and implement secure RESTful APIs and integrations to support mobile and web applications.
- Support software and hardware integrations , including interfacing with external systems, sensors, or mission hardware where required.
- Apply strong knowledge of design patterns, architectural best practices, and modern development methodologies to build maintainable, reusable code.
- Perform operational analysis and troubleshoot system issues in production and staging environments.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers, product owners, data engineers, and other developers to translate mission requirements into technical solutions.
- Support cloud-based deployments and CI/CD pipelines in alignment with DevSecOps practices.
- Participate in documentation, technical knowledge sharing, and mentoring activities to strengthen team capabilities.
- Ensure all deliverables meet federal security, compliance, and operational standards.

Job Requirements - U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance (Current DHS/CBP clearance preferred).
- 4 years of experience delivering and developing mobile software applications using Flutter and React Native.
- Full-stack dev with the addition of languages outside the typical Java stack, as an example.
- Broad-based technical experience with time spent on innovation, R&D, start-up, etc.
- Excellent Communication skills with the ability to collaborate and share insights with team members and stakeholders.
- Work independently as a member of a cross-functional team.
- Experience providing Research & Development with rapid prototyping and proof of concepts.
- Experience working within platform limits while building prototypes that are scalable.
- Expert in design patterns and methodologies.
- Ability to assess operational analysis.
- Experience with software & hardware integrations.
- Individual that wants to create and learn and has a methodical, scientific approach to problem solving.
- Angular Experience.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
- Government experience and current clearance preferred.
