The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving beverages in a hospital caf environment while delivering a positive and supportive experience to patients, visitors, and staff. Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Previous barista or food service experience
Experience in a healthcare or hospital setting
Knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP principles)
Familiarity with POS systems
Main Functions:
Prepare and serve coffee, espresso-based beverages, tea, and other drinks according to standardized recipes
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment in compliance with hospital and food safety standards
Ensure proper use, care, and basic maintenance of coffee equipment and caf work areas
Restock beverage supplies and monitor inventory levels to support daily operations
Follow all infection control, hand hygiene, and workplace safety protocols
Maintain a calm and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff
Identify and report equipment issues or operational concerns to leadership
Working Conditions:
Standing for long periods
Early morning, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required
Fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment
