Kraken Customs is seeking an experienced Automotive Electrical Technician / Installer to work with us as a 1099 Independent Contractor . We are looking for someone with strong automotive electrical experience who can confidently work on vehicles ranging from the 1920s to present day , including classic vehicles, modern vehicles, and custom builds.

This position is ideal for a self-motivated technician who is comfortable working independently, managing their time efficiently, and delivering quality workmanship across a wide range of electrical installations, diagnostics, and repairs.

What We Need

We’re looking for a technician who has experience with automotive electrical work including, but not limited to:

• Battery disconnect switches
• Automatic side rails / powered running boards
• Vehicle battery diagnosis, replacement, and wiring
• Inverters and power systems
• Audio systems, speakers, amplifiers, and accessories
• Electrical troubleshooting and repair
• Custom wiring and accessory installation
• Switches, relays, fuses, and circuit protection
• Lighting, power accessories, and aftermarket electrical add-ons
• Diagnosing shorts, voltage drops, charging issues, and parasitic draws

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical concerns on a wide range of vehicles, from early classic models to current vehicles
• Install and wire aftermarket electrical accessories and components
• Repair, replace, and troubleshoot wiring, switches, relays, batteries, and related electrical systems
• Read wiring diagrams and trace circuits accurately
• Perform clean, organized, and safe wiring installations
• Test completed installations to ensure proper operation and reliability
• Communicate clearly with management regarding job progress, parts needs, and any additional concerns found during repair
• Maintain a clean and professional work area

Qualifications

• Prior experience in automotive electrical work is required
• Ability to work on both classic and modern vehicles
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with custom wiring, aftermarket installations, and electrical accessories
• Familiarity with 12V electrical systems, charging systems, relays, switches, and power distribution
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Must have your own tools relevant to automotive electrical work
• Strong attention to detail and pride in clean workmanship

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

• Classic vehicle rewiring and restoration electrical work
• Custom audio and accessory installs
• Inverter and auxiliary power system installations
• Lighting upgrades and specialty electrical accessories
• Fleet, work truck, or commercial vehicle electrical installs

Schedule

Monday – Friday
6:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Saturday

6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
